Right now, there's a major gap in astrology education,
I don't think you should have to take classes meant for professionals just to learn the basics.
I think it's possible to build a solid foundation in such a way that you can immediately start incorporating more planetary awareness in your life.
Because the truth is that you don't need to know every single fancy technique in order for astrology to make a practical, tangible difference in your everyday... you just need to know three things: the who (planets), the what (signs), and the where (houses).
lesson 1: the foundation of foundations — what astrology is, what you can use it for, common misconceptions, plus what a birth chart ~actually~ looks like
lesson 2: the 7 traditional planets - and how they show up in your everyday life
lesson 3: the signs (and elements and modalities) - and what they tell us about your seasons of life
lesson 4: the houses of the birth chart - and what they mean for you
Because I think you should always get a sense of your teacher's background, here's mine. I studied 1:1 with Rebecca Gordon here in New York City, and I was the OG Director of Content for the CHANI app, writing and editing much of the evergreen content still on your screen today. You can read more about my astro influences in my website FAQ.
I've been writing about astrology professionally since 2018, and my NYT-featured newsletter Astrology for Writers is now being made into a book with Hachette.
As a working writer in both creative nonfiction and fiction (check out my first book Heretic), I've also taught literature and creative writing at Brandeis University, Sarah Lawrence College, Cornell College, and more.

I am working in the neo-Hellenistic tradition, which means I use whole sign houses and traditional planetary rulerships. Well known astrologers who also work in this tradition include Chani Nicholas and Chris Brennan.
I also incorporate archetypal methods, especially informed by the seasons of the Northern Hemisphere.
We largely stick to the foundations: the planets, the signs, and the houses! However, as the recordings are of live classes, students asked a wide range of intuitive questions that brought up interesting tangents.
While the class is described as a high-level introduction to Astrology, I was astounded at the depth of the topics we covered. It was incredible to finally be able to connect the dots between the different components of Astrology, and have background on the history of the practice. I wish I had taken a class like this years ago!
You created such a nice atmosphere and environment for learning and asking questions. I've really enjoyed your reframing of the planets, signs, and houses, that I have so far struggled to connect with in my own chart. Your way of teaching about, and describing, them is very expansive, and you made it so much clearer how all these different elements of a chart might come together and shape each other.
I found myself after every class re-looking at my own birth chart and applying what we learned that day to intuit and understand something new about myself. The information in the class is very grounding but it is also immediately usable. Very well presented and accessible. Thank you!
